This book is one that draws the reader in, by necessity. Mira is a psychic who is called on to help a teen boy (Anthony) who has stopped responding to the outside world. When Mira meets him, she discovers an entire world in his mind, based around the music of Mussorgsky.
Listening to the music while reading the book is very helpful. It sets a mood, helping the reader understand the characters that Anthony has created. The characters exist in artwork that represent different movements in the Pictures at an Exhibition symphony.
The characters are well-rounded and have their own strengths and weaknesses. This makes the story incredibly realistic and helps weave the pieces as the characters learn, make mistakes, and ultimately come to a conclusion.
Really well done, very exciting, and worth the time!
