So far this year…

These are the 3 books I’ve finished most recently. I’ve also read:

The Death of a Showgirl by Willow Bowery,

Lore Olympus, Volume 9, and

Atlas Obscura: An Explorer’s Guide to the World’ Hidden Wonders

I’m also in the process of reading:

The Well of Ascension by Brandon Sanderson,

The Bookshop by Evan Friss, and

Dream Count by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

There’s a good bit of nonfiction in there. That’s primarily because I wasn’t working on schoolwork. Once schoolwork kicks in, nonfiction isn’t something I want to read a lot of because when I start writing for school, it’s all nonfiction.

So far, my favorite of January is Scotch on the Rocks. However, that’s romance and not everyone’s cup of tea. But I love some good smut now and then.

I got The Death of a Showgirl because I am intrigued by the books this author has written. Who is Willow Bowery? Well, if you’re a Swiftie, you know the name. Did she write this? No idea. It’s a Shakespeare retelling. It’s really well written, so whoever wrote it did a great job. IMO, Taylor knows who wrote it, if it wasn’t her, because there are a lot of references to her music – including the author’s name. Track 1 on Evermore is called Willow. Also, Joe Alwyn has writing credit on some songs on Evermore – under William Bowery. Either way, it was good. Though it helps if you know Shakespeare (read Hamlet first, if you haven’t).

I started editing my first draft of my still unnamed book. I’m trying the title Awaken the Gods, but I don’t like it. I’ll take suggestions, if you have them.
