That evening had not gone as planned.
She pulled open the freezer looking for ice cream. Ice cream made everything better. She had been sure there was strawberry in the freezer, but no sign of it. Sighing, she shut the door.
She walked quietly back through the living room and climbed the stairs. A cool breeze rushed down the hallway to meet her.
“Yeah, I’m here.” she muttered.
She changed into her pajamas. She padded into her bathroom and brushed her hair. Then brushed her teeth.
Every once in awhile the cool breeze would drift past again.
She turned on the lamp next to the bed before shutting off the light on the ceiling. The blinds were closed. She sat on the edge of her bed and waited.
The cool breeze wrapped around her again. She looked at the blinds and they were still.
“Nobody else listens to me. I feel so alone.”
The breeze swept past her again. Then she felt the blanket fall over her shoulders. She lay down and began telling the story of her horrible night.
