Sometimes it needs to sit

Not your tea! If it sits too long, it gets cold (unless you have one of those tea warmer things…).

Your words need to sit.

This is one of the things I’ve learned early on. When I first read this, I thought it was silly. Why in the world would I let it sit and forget about it?

Well, as it turns out, it’s a great way to sharpen your characters and ideas.

It doesn’t mean walk away and leave it for a year. But maybe take a day or two. Work on something else. Make a blog. Whatever you need to do. But let it breathe. Let your mind forget what you came up with. When you come back to it?

Magic!

Try it.
